Our facility is located less than a half hour from Washington National Airport (DCA) and an easy shuttle ride away from Dulles International (IAD) or BWI airport. Several shuttle services offer transportation from Gateway Storage in Lorton, VA to Dulles airport for around $60. Take a cab from Gateway to the Springfield/Franconia Metro for around $15 one way.

Check out your local online deals (Groupon, Deal Chicken, etc) for airport shuttle services before booking and check the service website for coupons. Amazon Local deals recently featured an upscale car service to Dulles for 1/2 off the regular price.

Short Term Storage and Parking for Cars, Boats, RV’s and More

Short term parking and storage for vehicles and RV’s can be tough to find in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area. Many neighborhoods fall under county ordinances that prohibit parking RV’s, boats, and commercial vehicles on the street, or even in private driveways in some cases.

Customers taking the non-stop Amtrak Auto Train between Lorton, VA and Sanford, Florida can also take advantage of short term storage options at our facility. The Amtrak Auto Train is located only three miles away from Gateway Storage. We have extra large pull through spaces to store tow vehicles and trailers, for those customers transporting cars or motorcycles to the sunshine state. There is no parking on-site at the Auto Train for trailers and tow vehicles. The Auto Train can accomodate cars, vans, motorcycles, SUVs, small watercraft, waverunners, and smaller recreational vehicles, and it is currently Amtrak’s only route that transports vehicles.

Check in is by appointment during business hours; check-out is available 24/7.

Our short term storage is also available for customers going on vacation or on a business trip and need to temporarily and securely store extra vehicles securely away from their homes.
